Planning your Young Driver Intervention sessions

When planning your YDI training session you should:

  1. Lay out your own aims, objectives, and main theme for the session. You should also consider how you’ll measure the success of the event. Be realistic about what you’re going to achieve.
  2. Ensure you have the support of relevant partners and consider their contribution, and time constraints.
  3. If you’re visiting a school, make sure they’re prepared for your visit. Direct them towards the It’s your Call [Link to IYC section] and the Crash Magnets [Link to CM section] content beforehand.
  4. Make use of the Curriculum for Excellence and make links across the curriculum. Encourage group discussion, problem solving, and critical thinking.

The following content in this section will help you further develop your planning for your own Young Driver Intervention session.
