‘Feumaidh sinn àite sàbhailte airson a dhol tarsainn,’ tha Magaidh ag ràdh.

‘Tha sin ceart,’ tha Mamaidh ag ràdh. ‘Feumaidh sinn àite a lorg far am faic sinn an trafaig a’ tighinn agus far am faic an trafaig sinne cuideachd.’

‘We need a safe place tae cross,’ says Maggie.

‘That’s richt,’ says Mum. ‘We need tae fin somewhere where we can see traffic comin an traffic can see us.’

‘Nou whit dae we have tae dae?’ asks Mum.

Four sets of feet standing behind the kerb

Ziggy thinks really, really hard.

He knows that we always have to do something before we cross the road, but what?

Do you know? Can you whisper it in Ziggy’s ear?

Tha Siogaidh a’ smaoineachadh uabhasach fhèin cruaidh.

Tha fios aige gum feum sinn an-còmhnaidh rudeigin a dhèanamh mus tèid sinn tarsainn an rathaid, ach dè?

A bheil fios agad? An dèan thu cagair an cluais Shiogaidh?

Ziggy thinks really, really hard.

He kens that we ayeweys hiv tae dae something afore we cross the road, but whit?

Dae ye ken? Can you whisper it in Ziggy’s lug?

‘I know!’ says Ziggy excitedly.

‘We always have to wait before we cross the road!’

(He must have heard you!)

‘Well done, Ziggy,’ smiles Mum.

‘We always have to wait until the road is clear.’
