It is essential to have a clear view of a road before trying to cross
If you are trying to cross a road, especially a very busy one, always make sure you move to a position where there is nothing blocking your view.
Standing between parked vehicles, for example, can really limit your field of vision, so always walk to a spot where you can see the road clearly in both directions.
