Distractions can be dangerous
We all have a shared responsibility to use roads safely – pedestrians, drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists, and horse riders. It’s up to everyone to give the road their full attention.
Ways pedestrians can be safer and avoid distractions:
- Avoid using your mobile phone when you’re crossing the road.
- If you’re walking and listening to music, make sure you pay extra attention to what’s going on around you.
Ways drivers can be safer and avoid distractions:
- Turn off your phone or put in on silent when you’re driving.
- Keep your music at a level that won’t distract you or inhibit your ability to hear other driver’s horns or any Emergency vehicles.
