Third and Fourth

Your Call and Get in Lane

Young people aged between 11 and 14 are statistically most at risk on Scotland’s roads. Your Call targets that ‘at-risk’ age group with a range of interactive activities which explore risk taking, decision making, personal safety, pre-driver attitudes and peer pressure.

Pupils are actively encouraged to discuss and share experiences, reflect and challenge their own behaviour with a view to taking responsibility for their own safety and that of others.

Get in Lane covers topics from pre-driving, to passing your test and getting your first car. It offers practical advice and information on roads and the laws of the road using language and content that is easy to understand and easy to digest.

Theatre in Education

The Theatre in Education plays are currently being evaluated. Therefore, there will be no tours during the 2019-20 school year as Road Safety Scotland consider the recommendations and the way forward with the Theatre in Education service.

The learning resource below accompanies the School Daze play, and provides lessons which are active and open ended and not fully performance specific. The progression from starting secondary school to the familiarity of daily routines, increasingly involves distractions which influence a young person’s rational thought and hazard perception. The lessons are not prescriptive but provide a solid framework for teachers to extend and differentiate accordingly, potentially providing motivation to take the messages further than the classroom.
