This research by MVA Consultancy sought to identify ways of improving the delivery of road safety education, training and publicity (RSETP) in England, focusing specifically on road safety education. The research found widely varying approaches to road safety education across the country, and low levels of engagement with road safety among some of those working in the education sector. Recommendations are made for greater transparency in funding and resource allocation, broadening of the role of road safety officers (RSOs) to incorporate more facilitative work, and closer working between the Department for Transport and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
