Clear visibility is essential for staying safe around roads

Before crossing any road it is vital that you can see the road clearly in both directions.

Never try to cross a road from between vehicles, especially taller vehicles, as they obscure vision. If you have to lean forward to look round them to check the road, you are putting yourself in great danger.

Move to a location that is free of parking – or somewhere you can see the road clearly without having to step or lean forward into the road – and cross there.
